3) Volunteer

December 16
volunteers are needed to sort food, prepare boxes and ready the facility for the filling of boxes and delivery of food. All of the food collected by schools, churches and companies arrive at the Hazel Grey building in the Kalamazoo County Fair Ground complex. That evening, volunteers work together to ready cardboard boxes and to sort the food into stations.

On December 17th hundreds of volunteers are needed to fill boxes and deliver the food to more than 1500 families in need.

At 9:00 AM, lines of volunteers pull carts that are supplied, around the stations of food. Boxes are filled with canned goods, pantry items, fresh food and meats.

At 10:30 AM , trucks and cars will begin being filled with the boxes for delivery to a family in need. Famlies are welcome. Student clubs and other youth associations are encouraged to call in advance. We can often assign a group task which will make the effort more efficient. Confirmation of community service hours is available at the desk.
